• Basics about my Lecturing

For my lecturing in engineering and business and economics I first completed an education as Lecturer at the Center for Higher Education Teaching and Lifelong Learning (CHL) in Heidenheim in 2016. This includes the levels:

    • Teaching College 1 - Potential Analysis
    • Teaching College 2 - Lecture Design
    • Teaching College 3 - Lecture Methods
    • Teaching College 4 - Inovative Teaching

Accompanying my lectures I use activating elements. These are:

    • Lucky Dip, where students have to pick technical terms from a lottery drum and explain them to each other, and...
    • Muddiest Point, where students can anonymously comment on each lecture and list those contents that were difficult to understand. This allows me to regularly improve my lecture and especially my teaching method, and ...
    • In-Class Peer Review, is used in almost every of my lectures.  Students conduct a study in the lecture field and practice the use of particular methods and/or special laboratory software. Then they create a manuscript according to a "Guide for Authors". This manuscript is reviewed in a double-blind procedure by their class mates according to a checklist, after which the author finally submits the revised manuscript to the lecturer (=editor of a fictive publishing house) for publication. Before the exam, I create an "In-Class Journal" from all final versions which is sent to all students as their result of the joint class work and for exam preparation.

  • My Lecture in Engineering

My engineering lectures are concentrated on structural engineering topics such as materials science, dimensioning under durability requirements and building physics expertise for constructions and structural components under mechanical impacts and climate conditions. My lectures contain a detailed teaching script, lecture slides, exercises for the respective lessons and exercises as exam preparation. In the following my respective semester lectures at the different universities are listed in chronological order. Some areas are password-protected.
